Dry Needling
What is Dry Needling?
Dry Needling is a term used by Physiotherapists that is interchanged with acupuncture and anatomical acupuncture. Dry needling is an effective technique used to provide pain relief for conditions associated with musculoskeletal pain. Dry Needling is used to release overactive “tight” muscles that may be interfering with normal movement and function. In situations where massage alone isn’t achieving the desired effect, adding dry needling provides an enormous additional benefit.
Dry Needling, using acupuncture needles, is practiced to compliment other forms of treatment. It is not for every patient, and like all treatments, is recommended for patients on a case-by-case basis.
Our physiotherpaists are qualified to practice Dry Needling
At Complete Wellness Physiotherapy, Acupuncture (or Dry Needling) is performed by a qualified Physiotherapist, who has had further training through an APA (Australian Physiotherapy Association) accredited course. Our Physiotherapists at Complete Wellness Physiotherapy in Kalamunda have all received post graduate training in the techniques of dry needling.
