Kate Cranstoun attends the Kinesio Taping professional development course

Recently Kate attended an amazing, two-day intensive course on the Kinesio Taping method.

The Kinesio Taping method achieves its results through the principal of kinesiology; returning the body to homeostasis, using the body’s own built in healing mechanisms. Depending on its application, Kinesio Taping can be used to many different affects.

During the Kinesio Taping course, I observed dramatic results in my fellow participants’ pain, range of movement and strength; just from the correct application of a piece of this stretchy tape. In addition to this, Kinesio Taping can also help drain fluid from swollen limbs (either post injury or post-surgical), protect strained muscles, relax muscle spasms in acute low back pain, assist in correcting biomechanics and improve the appearance of keloid scars.

These vast and numerous uses for Kinesio Taping and the impressive results I have observed already, make it very exciting for me to be able to offer this service as part of the holistic treatment you receive at Complete Wellness Physiotherapy, Kalamunda.

Unlike rigid strapping tape, Kinesio Tape is hypoallergenic and water resistant. This makes it appropriate for use in most of the population whether you are participating in athletic endeavours or just leading your everyday life. The tape is safe to wear for 3-5 days and is designed to help you receive the most benefit from your ‘hands on’ treatment at Complete Wellness Physiotherapy.

Kate Cranstoun and our practice principal, Moz Quinn, are now both qualified to use Kinesio Taping in their physiotherapy practice at Complete Wellness Physiotherapy
